It is a very common technique that is used in high pressure or stressful careers like the U.S Navy SEALS, nurses and is now even used in professional sports teams .
I have found it to be a great way to calm my nerves before doing my lung function tests at the hospital as well.
1. Breathe in through the nose for 4 seconds
2. Hold your breath for 4 seconds
3, Breathe out of your mouth for 4 seconds (Purse your lips)
4. Hold your breath for 4 seconds
